Due to Hongkong's social upheaval for several months, the French luxury brand Chanel (Chanel) decided to postpone the holiday series, which was scheduled for November 6th in Hongkong, to "a later time."

The Chanel 2020 vacation series (2020 Cruise Collection) was first unveiled in Paris earlier this year, the first in Chanel without Karl Lagerfeld (Carle Lagrange) at the helm. Chanel announced in July that this series of fashion shows will be held in Hongkong.

Although Hongkong's big show has been postponed, Chanel's holiday series will still be on sale in Hongkong in November 6th. Chanel currently has 9 boutiques in Hongkong, one of which is located at the airport.

Usually, luxury brands like Chanel hold such large-scale activities, which can bring millions of dollars in revenue to the local economy, including the cost of fashion shows, ticket sales of exhibitors, hotels and restaurants.

Retail sales in Hongkong dropped by 11.4% in July due to social unrest in Hongkong and the Sino US trade war. This fall is widely expected in the market. According to the internal data of this month, several large retailers are expected to fall to two digits.
