In ancient China, people called silkworms "Ma Tou Niang".

According to the notes of Tang and Song Dynasty Novels, a statue of beautiful woman dressed in horsehide is often seen in the temples of Sichuan in the Tang Dynasty. It is said that this is the image of Ma Tou Niang.

In the Eastern Jin Dynasty Gan Bao's search of God, the story of Ma Tou Niang is described in detail: it is said that in ancient times, a girl's father went out.

The girl thought her father very much, and vowed that if anyone could find his father back, he would agree with him.

After listening to the white horse, the family rushed out, and after a few days, the father came back.

However, there was no such thing as marriage. Therefore, whenever he saw the girl, Ma was happy or angry and jumped up and down the ground.

The father felt strange and asked his daughter only if he knew the whole story.

But how can a man and a horse marry? The father killed the white horse for his daughter and stripped the horse skin to dry in the yard.

Unexpectedly, one day, the horse suddenly flew up and swept away the girl.

A few days later, it was discovered that the girl and horse skin hung between a big tree and they were turned into silkworms.

This cocoon is quite different from the ordinary cocoon. The silk is smooth and wide, and the women next door love it very much.

The silkworm was then reclaimed.

The silk reeling is several times that of the original cocoon.

This big tree is called "mulberry".

Sang is a homophonic mourning for mourning the meaning of this horse and daughter.

People take the silkworm back to raise, and now the silkworm reared in the world is the silkworm left at that time.

The girl wearing a horse skin is worshipped as a silkworm God, because the silkworm head is like a horse, so it is also called "Ma Tou Niang".

This story is also recorded in the original collection and collection.
