The following are the headlines of global media in June 3rd.


  《纽约时报》:美国提出新的航空旅客保护条例


The US Department of pport proposed a wide range of air passenger protection regulations on Wednesday, indicating that it will more actively force airlines to solve common problems in air travel.

The new regulations include the increase of compensation for passengers who are unable to board the plane due to oversold air tickets, allowing passengers to get a full refund within 24 hours of the purchase of tickets, and requiring baggage to be reimbursed for passengers' baggage charges and fees when they fail to arrive in time.

Warren Buffett, the largest shareholder and billionaire investor of Moody Moodie 1 (s Corp), testified at the hearing of the Congressional financial crisis Investigation Committee on Wednesday that he could not blame too much credit rating agencies if he did not see the real estate bubble burst.

Buffett refused to testify until last week when he received a summons from the Committee.

Buffett testified together with Moodie CEO Raymond Raymond McDaniel, who admitted that his company had made a mistake.

Detroit based carmakers, including Ford Motor Co, general motors and Chrysler, achieved a two digit sales growth in the same month last year, when GM was filing for bankruptcy protection last year, and Chrysler has entered bankruptcy protection.

Several Japanese, Korean and European automakers also gained more than 20% sales growth.

But American consumers gave up Toyota Auto Body Co, and its sales increased by only 7% over last May.

The EU plans to push forward the final step of financial reform, strengthen the supervision of global rating agencies, and examine the management of banks, thus establishing a new industry rating regulator.

Before that, rating agencies were considered to have played a negative role in the subprime crisis and the European debt crisis, and were criticized by the EU government.


  《泰晤士报》:英国房产价格趋于稳定


British housing prices are growing steadily after rising prices over the past 12 months.

Real estate prices rose 9.5% in April, up to the highest level in August 2008, and the average price of housing was 200615.

But the real estate agency says 1-2% inflation over the past 5 months is saying growth is leveling off.

On Wednesday, Greece launched a plan to encourage privatization, which aims to raise 3 billion euros by 2014 and reduce public debt.

The Greek finance minister said private capital would be encouraged to buy state assets and promised to restart the privatization process.

The sale will focus on pportation, communications and energy.

On Friday, the group of twenty finance ministers' meeting will be held in Busan, South Korea. A report on the conference accuses India of further reducing the inefficient use of fossil fuels and playing a counterproductive role in the promotion of green energy. In this regard, India firmly opposes the report's view and will fight back violently.

On Friday and Saturday, the finance ministers of the world's developed and important developing countries will gather in South Korea to explore measures to ease the tension in the global financial markets caused by the debt crisis in the euro area.

At the meeting, preventing a vicious circle of banking crises is another important agenda.

It may be controversial whether the finance ministers should levy a global tax on banks to balance the cost of future emergency relief.

Japan is not actively pursuing a global banking tax and will report on its austerity measures at the meeting.
